Alignment Jackson, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to improving student achievement by facilitating a city-wide partnership that supports the Jackson Public Schools' Strategic Plan.
Founded by United Way of the Capital Area, City of Jackson, Jackson Public Schools and Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership, Alignment Jackson (AJ) uses a comprehensive, multifaceted, and collaborative approach that is designed to provide sustainability by focusing on systemic change and engaging stakeholders.
By aligning available expertise and programs, resources are leveraged, duplication is avoided, and efficiency is greatly increased. This results in greater returns on investment in education and, most importantly, healthier and more successful children for the city of Jackson.

The City of Jackson is blessed with many businesses and community organizations independently working toward the success of our schools.
To be more effective, we need to:
(1) Identify these entities
(2) Determine where they can be most helpful, and
(3) Create a process for working collaboratively toward established school district goals
Alignment Jackson has begun to maximize these initiatives through the proven and productive "Alignment" process. Check out some news articles from the past, which have highlighted our work and collaborative approach.

The Career Exploration Fair ... not your average fair

The JPS Freshman Academy Class of 2015-2016 took part in a day they will never forget!

The second annual Career Exploration Fair for all JPS Freshman Academy students was held on November 18, 2015 at the Jackson Convention Complex. About 2,100 ninth grade students had the opportunity to engage with over 100 local businesses and organizations and explore a myriad of career areas through hands-on activities. Many thanks to the Alignment Jackson committee members, volunteers, JPS, and the business community who helped make this event successful.
